Where are we?
Nylon Pool, Pigeon Point, on the south-western side of Tobago .. not far from the ANR International Airport at Crown Point.
Now, we're doing a quick pic dip in and around the Nylon Pool. You will see anchored fishing boats, stretches of undulating sea-water, glass-bottom boats plying their trade; people peering from the tour boats and bobbing in the pool; youngsters taking their first brave watery steps; the horizon, the shore, the sky; the coral reef - Bucco Reef breakers in the distance. It is a naturally relaxed holiday atmosphere at one of Tobago's finest beaches, Pigeon Point, Nylon Pool.
It is good business for the local cruisers, especially during the holiday season. No-one comes to Tobago and leaves, without dipping in the Nylon Pool. Both local and foreign visitors enjoy the clear waters at the Pool for a few hours before being taken back to shore; to hotels and guest houses in the vicinity. Scarborough, the main town, is only a few miles away and a drive around the island is quite possible in a day.
Visitors from Trinidad bring their vehicles with them on the inter-island ferry, for a convenient spin around Tobago. Visitors from abroad can easily access rental transportation at their vacation spot, even before arriving in Tobago.
Trail Spots (T-Spots!) captures several cool hours spent at the Nylon Pool. In this mini-series we will post photos and videos that allow you to 'bob and dip' with the bathers. It is our hope that you will come back for another 'Tobago Dip' at the Nylon Pool ... or better yet, why not visit in person!
In the mean time, you can locate Bucco Reef and the Nylon Pool on the map below. Click on the pics to enlarge. if necessary.
Let's move, trail-spotters!
